Peel + Needling

Resurfacing

Retexturing

Peel + Needling brings two treatments together in one appointment: a customised Level 1 clinical peel and SkinPen microneedling. Your nurse chooses a peel to suit your skin on the day, then follows it with collagen induction therapy.Together, they work on both the surface and the deeper layers of the skin, for a combined approach to concerns about texture and tone.

The treatment experience

Your session begins with a thorough double cleanse. Your nurse then applies a Level 1 peel chosen for your skin type and concerns. The peel gently exfoliates the surface and helps prepare the skin. Next, the nurse moves the SkinPen hand-piece across the face, gently stamping the skin to create controlled micro-channels. This is designed to stimulate the skin’s natural repair response. The session finishes with a soothing serum and SPF. The appointment takes 50 minutes in total.

It's best for

  • Uneven skin texture and the appearance of enlarged pores
  • Dull or uneven-looking skin tone
  • Clients already having SkinPen who want added surface exfoliation in the same visit

Pre and post care

What can I expect after my peel?

Combining a peel with needling can make the skin feel more sensitive than either treatment on its own. Redness, tightness, tingling and a warm sensation similar to mild sunburn are common, and usually settle within 24–72 hours. Some light flaking or dryness may follow for a few days as the skin renews.

What precautions should I take pre and post?
  • Before treatment: stop retinoids, AHAs, BHAs and other exfoliating products 5–7 days beforehand. Depending on your skin, your nurse may recommend preparing it with a pigment inhibitor for at least 2 weeks before treatment. Avoid waxing, threading or other facial treatments in the treated area for 7 days.
  • For at least 24 hours after: avoid makeup, strenuous exercise, alcohol, saunas and hot showers on the face.
  • For two weeks after: avoid extended sun or UV exposure and extreme heat or cold. Don’t pick at any flaking skin.
  • Exposure to any of the above may cause temporary redness, swelling or itching in the treatment area.
  • Use daily SPF 30+, reapplied every two hours during prolonged sun exposure.

Common questions

How does Peel + Needling work?

First, your nurse applies a Level 1 peel chosen for your skin type and concerns on the day. Depending on the peel, it may use acids, enzymes or antioxidants to gently exfoliate the surface of the skin and help prepare it. SkinPen microneedling then creates controlled micro-channels that trigger the body’s natural wound-healing response, a process known as collagen induction therapy. Your nurse will explain which peel they recommend and why at your consultation.

What are the benefits?
  • Combines surface exfoliation with collagen induction therapy in one appointment
  • Supports cell turnover and collagen remodelling
  • May help even the appearance of superficial pigmentation over a course of treatments
  • Can help soften the appearance of acne scarring and uneven texture
  • The peel is customised to your skin on the day
What are the risks?

Common side effects include redness, swelling, tightness, flaking and sensitivity. Less commonly, bruising, breakouts, infection, or pigmentation changes (darkening or lightening of the skin) can occur. The risk of pigmentation changes may be higher in darker skin tones. Your nurse will assess your suitability at consultation.

How many treatments will I need?

A course of 3treatments spaced 4–6 weeks apart is generally recommended. The exact plan depends on your skin type and concern, and your nurse will create a custom plan at your consultation.

Who isn’t it suitable for?
  • during pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • if you have active acne, cold sores, eczema or rosacea flares, or broken skin in the treatment area
  • if you have recently had recent sun exposure/sun burn
  • if you have a known allergy to any peel ingredients
Is it painful?

You may feel tingling or warmth from the peel, and a slightly scratchy sensation during needling. Because the peel is applied first, the needling stage can feel more sensitive than SkinPen on its own. Most clients rate it around 3–4/10, depending on individual sensitivity.

Results Disclaimer

Results vary from person to person and cannot be guaranteed. Changes to tone and texture develop gradually over a course of treatments as the skin renews. We recommend an in-depth consultation with one of our registered nurses. They will explain how the treatment works, whether it suits your skin, and what to realistically expect.
