Common questions

How do fine lines and wrinkles form?

Fine lines and wrinkles are a normal part of how skin changes over time. From our late twenties onward, the skin gradually produces less collagen and elastin — the proteins responsible for firmness and bounce — and cell turnover slows.

Two types of lines develop in different ways. Dynamic lines appear with expression — smiling, frowning, raising the brows — and soften when the face is at rest. Over time, as the skin's natural elasticity reduces, some of these can become static lines, visible even when the face is relaxed.

Lifestyle and environment play a role too. Cumulative UV exposure is the single biggest external factor in how skin ages, alongside genetics, sleep position, and habits like smoking.

Every face ages differently, which is why we start with a consultation rather than a set treatment. Our registered nurses assess your skin, discuss your concerns, and build a personalised plan suited to you.

What are the risks?

All cosmetic treatments carry potential risks, which can vary based on individual factors such as skin type, medical history, and treatment areas. During your consultation, our experienced nurses will conduct a thorough assessment to determine the most suitable approach for you. They will explain the possible risks, expected downtime, and aftercare requirements, ensuring you have all the information needed to make an informed decision. Your safety and satisfaction are our top priorities, and we are committed to delivering natural-looking, balanced results with the highest standard of care.
