+6 Months to the Big Day - Invest in Repair Treatments

If you are trying to change or repair any skin concerns, we recommend starting at least six months before your wedding day. This time frame allows you to address any specific skin concerns, such as acne, hyperpigmentation, or fine lines, and develop a personalised skincare routine that will help you achieve your best complexion yet. By starting these treatments early, as well as getting a headstart on correcting your skin concerns, this also allows you to trial the treatments well ahead of the big day! Some treatments to consider starting in advance are: 

SkinPen is a medical micro-needling (or skin needling) device. Micro-needling is a form of collagen induction therapy, using tiny needles to stimulate the body’s natural wound healing response. In this response, new tissue and skin cells are formed, producing significant improvements to the tone and texture of the skin.  

IPL 'Intense Pulsed Light' is an effective rejuvenation treatment using light therapy to break down melanin in the skin, reversing pigmentation and creating a more even skin tone. IPL is also used to effectively treat acne and breakouts, destroying bacteria and calming inflammation. By effectively treating conditions such as acne, Sun damaged and rosacea, this could be the perfect treatment for you to even out your skin tone before the big day and plan in advance to make sure you can fit in the required treatments for radiant and glowing skin on your wedding day! This treatment also offers minimal downtime, easy to fit into the busy wedding planning schedule! 

The Ultraformer is a revolutionary skin tightening treatment using the power of ultrasound (also known as Ultherapy or HIFU High Intensity Focused Ultrasound) to lift not just the skin but also the deep muscle layer underneath. The Ultraformer uses deep dermal micro-heating and contraction for a multi-layered lifting, tightening and rejuvenation effect. After initial consult our nurses will devise yourat-home skincare regimen. By getting these treatments 6 months in advance, you are giving yourself more time to make any adjustments or touch ups as needed, and the results will have settled enough in time for the wedding! Additionally, spacing out your treatments allows for more gradual natural looking results, avoiding any sudden changes or adverse reactions to the treatments. 

3-6 Months to the Wedding: The Skin Glow Up

For your anti-wrinkle injections, you may want to get a small top up following your previous session before the big day as it usually lasts for 4-6 months. However, its important to remember to avoid getting anti wrinkle injections too close to the wedding as it takes a few weeks for results to show, and there is a small risk of bruising at the injection site! With dermal and lip filler, they usually last a lot longer. If there are small changes and adjustments you would like to make, wed advise this to be done 2 months before the wedding to allow for any bruising, swelling etc. to subside and for the filler to settle. 

1-3 Months to the Wedding: Maintain your Radiance

During this time, going for treatments that hydrate, plump and exfolaite with no down time are the goal to get that desried glow without irritation.

In the weeks leading up to your wedding, stick to a consistent skincare routine that includes gentle cleansing, moisturising, and targeted treatments for your specific skin concerns. Avoid using harsh or abrasive products that could irritate your skin or cause breakouts and stick to what's worked for you so far!

Brides may choose to undergo dermablading a few weeks before their wedding day to achieve a smooth and flawless complexion. Dermablading is a non-invasive exfoliation treatment that involves using a scalpel to gently remove the top layer of dead skin cells and vellus hair (also known as "peach fuzz") from the face. This process not only reveals brighter, smoother skin but also allows your skincare products to penetrate deeper and work more effectively!  The reason for doing dermablading a few weeks before the wedding is that it can cause some redness and sensitivity immediately after the treatment. This is a normal and temporary side effect of the procedure and typically subsides within a day or two. By doing the treatment a few weeks before the wedding, the bride ensures that any temporary redness or irritation has time to subside before the big day!

As the wedding day approaches, it's important to prioritise sun protection to prevent sun damage, keeping your skin safe and making sure you don't undo any repair from your previous skincare treatments. Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 50 every day, and reapply it throughout the day as needed.
